Summary
Circuit Timer does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers. Your workout data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account. This policy covers both the iOS app and the Apple Watch companion app.
1. Data We Do Not Collect
Circuit Timer does not collect:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Analytics or usage tracking
- Advertising identifiers
- Device fingerprinting data
2. Data Stored on Your Device
Circuit Timer stores your circuits, intervals, and workout history locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device except through iCloud sync (see below) or Apple Health (see below).
The app uses UserDefaults to store your preferences (such as purchase status and settings). This data remains on your device and your iCloud account.
3. iCloud Sync
If you purchase the Core or Pro upgrade, your circuits sync across your iPhone and Apple Watch via Apple's CloudKit service using your personal iCloud account. This sync is managed entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your iCloud data. Apple's privacy policy governs the handling of iCloud data.
4. Apple Health
If you enable the Apple Health integration, completed workouts are saved to the Health app as High Intensity Interval Training sessions.
- On iPhone: Circuit Timer writes workout data to Apple Health and reads your body mass to improve calorie estimates. No other health data is read.
- On Apple Watch: Circuit Timer reads your heart rate during workouts to display real-time intensity zones, and writes completed workout sessions to Apple Health.
Health integration requires your explicit permission and can be disabled at any time in the app's settings. Health data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
5. Voice Announcements
Circuit Timer uses Apple's on-device text-to-speech engine to announce interval names and countdowns. All speech processing happens locally on your device. No audio data or text is sent to any server.
6. Notifications
Circuit Timer may send local notifications to alert you of interval changes when the app is in the background. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.
7. Live Activities and Widgets
Circuit Timer provides a Live Activity (Lock Screen and Dynamic Island) and a home screen widget to display timer status. These use Apple's ActivityKit and WidgetKit frameworks and operate entirely on your device.
8. Siri and Shortcuts
Circuit Timer supports Siri voice commands and the Shortcuts app to start circuits. These integrations use Apple's App Intents framework. Voice processing is handled by Apple according to their privacy policy.
9. In-App Purchases
Circuit Timer offers two optional one-time in-app purchases (Core and Pro) to unlock additional features. Purchases are processed by the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs purchase transactions.
10. Third-Party Services
Circuit Timer does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
11. Children's Privacy
Circuit Timer does not knowingly collect data from children. Since the app collects no personal data from any user, it is compliant with COPPA and similar regulations.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
